Lucas has gone a perfect 5-0 against St. Paul recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Cubs will face off against the Flyers at 11:15 a.m. Lucas knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully St. Paul likes a good challenge.
Lucas is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Willard just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 14-11 to the Crimson Flashes.

Emma Brown made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Olyvia Culler, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, St. Paul waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Big Red 10-0. The Flyers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Isabella Guerra made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Ella Kalizewski was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ryleigh Mansfield-Bush was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
St. Paul was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .407 or higher in four consecutive games.
St. Paul pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lucas, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Lucas came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Paul in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 9-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cubs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
