Softball Game Preview: Walnut Wildcats vs. New Site Royals

The Walnut Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the New Site Royals at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

It was a proper cat-fight when Walnut faced off against Hamilton on Friday. The Wildcats fell 5-1 to the Lions. The Wildcats have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Walnut saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brynley Dawkins, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, New Site was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Mooreville, falling 9-1.

New Site's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Walnut, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Walnut skirted past New Site 2-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Royals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
