On Wednesday, Hanover-Horton made easy work of Michigan Center and carried off a 15-2 win. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Braylon Sayles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Hanover-Horton's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-6 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cameron Sherwood, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 12 matchups. Another player making a difference was Jack Wooster, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Hanover-Horton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Sand Creek's offense. They came up short against Swanton on Wednesday, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Aggies' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Hanover-Horton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Sand Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Hanover-Horton couldn't quite get it done against Sand Creek in their previous meeting back in April of 2019 as they fell 6-1. Will the Comets have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
