Baseball Recap: Oak Grove Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Oak Grove dropped their record down to 25-6 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brandon Bulldogs. Surprisingly, this marked the Warriors' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Kendrell Roberts was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Booth Jr, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

As for Brandon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games.

On Brandon's side, Jackson Clark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. Clark has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Graydon Walker, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Jay McQueen was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

While Oak Grove had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
