Baseball Game Preview: Charles City Panthers vs. West Point Pointers

Charles City hasn't had much luck against West Point recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Pointers at 5:00 p.m. Charles City has given up an average of 18.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Charles City is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Sussex Central, falling 23-6.

Damian Barnes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in both of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Damian Zuidema, who earned two runs and six stolen bases.

Meanwhile, West Point lost 16-6 to Mathews on Thursday. The Pointers have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

West Point's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Charles City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Charles City might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from West Point when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
