Basketball Recap: Lauren Lund and Michelle Shields Secure Win for Unaka

Unaka had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 53-43 win over the Cloudland Highlanders. This was a revenge game for the Rangers: when they faced off against the Highlanders back in January, they had to take a 52-46 defeat.

Unaka was led to victory by Michelle Shields and Lauren Lund. Shields posted 21 points and six assists, while Lund went 6-for-8 en route to 16 points. The game was Shields' sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Campbell, who put up five points.

Unaka's victory bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Cloudland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Unaka nor Cloudland have any future games scheduled.
