Softball Recap: Mendez Has No Trouble Against Contreras

Mendez won the last time they faced Contreras and things went their way on Thursday too. The Jaguars blew past the Cobras 22-3. Considering the Jaguars have won seven matchups by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mendez's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Contreras, they moved to 6-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Mendez will face off against Robert F. Kennedy Community at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15 runs per game on average), something the Jaguars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Contreras, they will square off against Belmont at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cobras are facing the Sentinels at the right time seeing as the Sentinels are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
