Basketball Recap: Tuscola Takes a Loss

Tuscola lost against West Henderson back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tuscola Mountaineers took a 51-36 bruising from the West Henderson Falcons.

Despite the loss, Tuscola saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Julia Wells posted 14 points and six boards. The dominant performance also gave Wells a new career-high in blocks (two).

West Henderson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maya Amin, who had 12 points. Kayden Lyda was another key player, putting up five points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Tuscola's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for West Henderson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-8.

Tuscola will venture away from home to challenge Brevard at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Henderson has already played their next game, a 65-27 victory against North Henderson on the 22nd.
