Softball Recap: Dixon Takes a Loss

Dixon lost against Oregon back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Dukes & Duchesses fell 6-1 to the Hawks. The Dukes & Duchesses have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Allie Abell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Dixon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Tegeler, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Abby Hicks also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Dixon's record now sits at 4-4. As for Oregon, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Dixon will challenge rival Rock Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Oregon is set to take on their familiar foe North Boone at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
