Basketball Game Preview: Robinson Rockets vs. China Spring Cougars

Robinson hasn't had much luck against China Spring recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Robinson Rockets will challenge the China Spring Cougars at 6:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Robinson came up into this matchup off a tough 47-point defeat on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Gatesville by a score of 35-33 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rockets have suffered since January 5, 2024.

Meanwhile, China Spring came up short against Lorena on Friday and fell 39-32. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Leopards are ranked 142nd).

This is the second loss in a row for Robinson and nudges their season record down to 15-12. As for China Spring, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-16 record this season.

Robinson didn't have too much breathing room in their game against China Spring when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 45-39 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Robinson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
