The Holy Ghost Prep Firebirds will head out to challenge the Dock Mennonite Pioneers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Holy Ghost Prep will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Holy Ghost Prep had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Chichester on Thursday. The Firebirds put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 15-1 win. That looming 15-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Firebirds yet this season.

The team relied heavily on Matt Riendeau, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Colin Davis also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Holy Ghost Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Dock Mennonite had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Warriors.
Riley Kling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, James Steinmetz was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Brayden Kratz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.
Dock Mennonite's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Holy Ghost Prep, their record now sits at 9-7.
