The Horizon Hawks will take on the Windermere Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Horizon's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Dr. Phillips with a sharp 9-0 victory.
Morgyn Welch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ellie Ferradaz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Maryn Neely was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Horizon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dr. Phillips struck out 15 times.
Meanwhile, Windermere waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Mustangs 17-1.
Sophia Margelos looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Sabrina Boyer was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Sophie Shaik also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Horizon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Windermere, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7.
Both Horizon and Windermere just can't seem to miss. The Hawks have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Windermere struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Horizon beat Windermere 3-0 in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
