Baseball Game Preview: King's Knights vs. Kalama Chinooks

The King's Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Kalama Chinooks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (King's has three straight victories, Kalama has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

King's proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out King's Way Christian 6-5.

Nate Echelbarger was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: King's kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Kalama came up short against Columbia on Thursday and fell 7-3.

Kalama saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaak Ketzbeau, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

King's pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Kalama, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.
