Soccer Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Conestoga Pioneers. While losing is never fun, Springfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 330th, while Conestoga are ranked 29th).

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Conestoga, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That lines up perfectly with their 9-1-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield will welcome Cardinal O'Hara at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Conestoga, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Henderson at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
