Softball Recap: Fayetteville-Manlius Gets the Win

While Fayetteville-Manlius's victory against West Genesee wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hornets had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 6-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-6 back in April.

Anna Arthur was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

Fayetteville-Manlius has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for West Genesee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Fayetteville-Manlius is set to square off against their familiar foe Liverpool at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, West Genesee will take on rival Baldwinsville at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
