Preview: Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg vs. Heritage Hawks
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg will take on the Heritage Hawks in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg and five for Heritage.
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought game, but Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg had to settle for a 40-38 loss against Tuscola. Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg has struggled against Tuscola recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Ellie Wittenberg, who scored 11 points. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn VonBehrens, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Heritage took a serious blow against Arcola on Thursday, falling 62-11. Heritage was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-4.
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg bumped their record down to 4-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
Everything came up roses for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg against Heritage when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 48-12 win. With Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg ahead 36-5 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
