Volleyball Recap: Lakeview Comes Up Short

Lakeview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the New Fairfield Rebels. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Lakeview took New Fairfield into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-16, 20-25, 25-20, 15-9.

Lakeview's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for New Fairfield, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Lakeview will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northwestern Regional at 5:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for New Fairfield, they will welcome Newtown at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
