Game recap: Stults sparks Hamilton high school football team's victory over Winfield

Mitch Stults threw three touchdowns and ran for two more as Hamilton (Ala.) defeated Winfield (Ala.) 51-28 on Saturday.

The Aggies were up 42-21 at the half after taking the lead on a Stults touchdown pass to Jessie Box in the first quarter.

Hamilton expanded its lead to 27 points entering the fourth quarter. HHS's lone score in the quarter came on a Stults touchdown pass to Justin Scott.

A 27-point first quarter helped the Aggies secure the big victory. Hamilton scored on a touchdown pass by Stults to Box, a Stults touchdown run, a defensive touchdown and a touchdown run by Stults in the quarter.

Edward McCollum made a difference for the Pirates. The sophomore quarterback ran for two touchdowns.



HHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 37-13.

In a 3A Region 7 game next week Hamilton (7-0) takes on Winston County, and Winfield (2-5) will go up against Vinemont also in a 3A Region 7 game.
