Basketball Recap: Everton Comes Up Short

Everton came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by the School of the Ozarks Patriots 79-34. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-13.

Despite the loss, Everton still got an impressive performance from Joshua Daniels, who posted 22 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 64.7% of the Tigers' points, marking the 12th time in a row Daniels has earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Grisham, who put up seven points.

School of the Ozarks' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaac Hampsch, who scored 14 points along with six boards and five assists. That's the most assists Hampsch has posted since back in February of 2025. Another player making a difference was Timba Saffle, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 15 points.

Everton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-23. As for School of the Ozarks, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-11.

Everton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-65 win against Bronaugh on the 17th. As for School of the Ozarks, they will square off against Halfway at 7:46 p.m. on Friday.
