Softball Recap: Northlake Christian Has No Trouble Against Haynes Academy

Northlake Christian barely beat Haynes Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Haynes Academy on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolverines considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Abigail Willie made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Willie was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Evie Burns was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Sara Davis was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Northlake Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 16.7 runs. As for Haynes Academy, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6.

Looking ahead, Northlake Christian is taking a road trip to challenge Loranger at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Haynes Academy, they will welcome Terrebonne at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.79 runs per game on average), something Haynes Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of.
