Basketball Recap: Patagonia Piles Up the Points Against Valley Union

There's no place like home for Patagonia, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Valley Union Blue Devils, posting a 51-11 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lobos as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Patagonia's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Diego Carranza, who went 6 of 9 en route to 13 points in addition to six boards and six steals. Carranza has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Kannon Shore was another key player, going 5 for 6 on his way to 12 points and four steals.

Valley Union's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nomar Martinez, who posted four points.

Patagonia now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Valley Union, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.

Patagonia has already played their next game, a 50-45 loss against San Manuel on the 31st. As for Valley Union, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-39 defeat against Tombstone on the 3rd.
