With a playoff win on the line, Salem rose to the challenge on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Dover Green Wave a 10-0 shutout. The Blue Devils not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 13th (when they won 12-2).

Salem has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Dover, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Salem will challenge Londonderry on Saturday. The Lancers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Blue Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Dover does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
