Football Recap: Manheim Central Skates Past Fleetwood with Ease

Manheim Central's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Fleetwood Tigers 42-3. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Barons considering their six-point performance the game before.

Manheim Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cody Hess out in front who rushed for 50 yards and one TD, and also picked up 50 receiving yards. Another back making a difference was Logan Geib, who rushed for 61 yards and one score.

Manheim Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Hess picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Manheim Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.0 points on average over those games. As for Fleetwood, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Manheim Central will head out to take on Garden Spot at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fleetwood, they will host Solanco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Golden Mules have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
