Baseball Recap: Northridge Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Woods Cross, Northridge was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Clearfield Falcons by a score of 6-2. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Kam Shirreffs was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Northridge's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 10-3 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Isaac Anderson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Trevin Redd was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Northridge's record is now 15-9. As for Clearfield, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-12.

Northridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
