Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Waynesfield-Goshen's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Memorial on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled against the Roughriders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Hardin Northern's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Waynesfield-Goshen, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hardin Northern has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Waynesfield-Goshen struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Hardin Northern skirted past Waynesfield-Goshen 5-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Polar Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
