Howland had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Lakeview Bulldogs by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Howland easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-16.
Maya Kubancsek paced Howland's offense, picking up 12 kills. Kubancsek got some help from Talia Rishel and her 18 assists. Kubancsek was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
