Softball Recap: Grayslake Central Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Grayslake Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Round Lake Panthers on Thursday as they made off with a 16-1 win. Considering the Rams have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Autumn Aliff, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Emma Andrews also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Grayslake Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Round Lake only posted an OBP of .200.

Grayslake Central is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Round Lake, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Grayslake Central will face off against Libertyville at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Round Lake, they will challenge Lakes at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
