Preview: Los Gatos Wildcats vs. Archbishop Riordan Crusaders

The Los Gatos Wildcats will be playing at home against the Archbishop Riordan Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Los Gatos entered their tilt with Menlo-Atherton with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Los Gatos put the hurt on Menlo-Atherton with a sharp 30-6 victory on Friday. Given Los Gatos' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Menlo-Atherton is ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Boxer Kopcsak-Yeung, who rushed for 154 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Kopcsak-Yeung was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Thomas, who picked up 96 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Riordan was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory 49-19 on the road.

Archbishop Riordan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isitolo Tuugamusu out in front who rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Michael Mitchell jr. was another key contributor, throwing for 192 yards and four touchdowns.

Los Gatos has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 8-2 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.0 points per game. As for Archbishop Riordan, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
