Baseball Recap: Fike Demons vs. South Johnston Trojans
Fike hadn't done well against South Johnston recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Fike Demons never let the South Johnston Trojans get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. For the Demons, this counts as revenge for the 12-2 victory the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.
Not much got past Evan Ferrell, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep South Johnston off the board. Fike is 2-1 when Ferrell allowsthree or fewer hits, but 0-4 otherwise.

Coming up, Fike will take on Smithfield-Selma at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Smithfield-Selma has lost three straight at home , while Fike has lost seven on the road (dating back to last season). As for South Johnston, they will host C.B. Aycock at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Johnston's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so C.B. Aycock's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
