Basketball Recap: Morgan Maldonado's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mountain City Christian Academy over Colony

Mountain City Christian Academy was the 42-36 winner over Colony when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Mountain City Christian Academy Lions lost 58-38 to the Colony Knights on Friday.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Morgan Maldonado, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 17 points along with seven boards and five steals. Maldonado is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keelie Kronberger, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 11-2. As for Colony, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Mountain City Christian Academy has already played their next matchup, a 69-33 win against North Pole on the 8th. As for Colony, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-31 victory against Dimond on the 8th.
