Given the Presidents' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Whippets are ranked 289th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Highland came up short against Pleasant on Thursday and fell 61-53. The Fighting Scots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marion Harding's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Marion Harding was able to grind out a solid win over Highland in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 50-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marion Harding since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
