Mount Airy is a perfect 10-0 against Elkin since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Granite Bears will venture away from home to challenge the Buckin' Elks at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Mount Airy took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They skirted past North Stokes 5-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Granite Bears as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Elkin got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Alleghany, sneaking past 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Buckin' Elks have posted since February 25th.

Elkin let Xan Charles and Zane Ashley run wild. Charles scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Ashley scored two runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs Charles has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Avett Simmons, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Elkin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Mount Airy's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Elkin, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12.

Mount Airy took their win against Elkin when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Do the Granite Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buckin' Elks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
