Baseball Recap: Smithville's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Smithville waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Tremont Eagles as they made off with a 14-4 win. The Seminoles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Smithville got a massive performance out of Matthew Allred, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Allred has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Eaton, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Smithville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .571 or higher in three consecutive games.

Smithville's victory bumped their record up to 5-18. As for Tremont, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

As of now, neither Smithville nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
