Softball Game Preview: Glendale Vikings vs. Central Dragons

The Glendale Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Central Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Glendale will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Glendale had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Williamsburg on Thursday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Blue Pirates. The game marked the Vikings' most dominant win of the season.

Meanwhile, Central came up short against Forest Hills on Wednesday, falling 19-3. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Central saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kailyn Gahagan, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Glendale, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Glendale came out on top in a nail-biter against Central when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
