Preview: Frankton Eagles vs. Alexandria-Monroe Tigers
The Frankton Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Alexandria-Monroe Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Frankton entered their tilt with Shenandoah with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Frankton blew past Shenandoah 54-23 on the road.
It was another big night for Emma Sperry, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. The game was her third in a row with at least ten points. Amaya Collins was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 8 steals.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Alexandria-Monroe on the road against Taylor on Monday as the team secured a 87-16 win. Given Alexandria-Monroe's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while Taylor is ranked 371st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Frankton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Alexandria-Monroe, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.
Frankton came up short against Alexandria-Monroe in their previous meeting back in January, falling 55-48. Can Frankton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
