Sam Smith posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Thursday. He struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Central Catholic is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 5-7 otherwise.

Smith's effort led Central Catholic over Sandy and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
