Softball Game Preview: Childress Bobcats vs. Dalhart Wolves

Childress is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Monday. They will host the Dalhart Wolves at 4:30 p.m. Dalhart took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Childress, who comes in off a win.

Childress' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against West Texas as Childress made off with a 14-0 win. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

Ansley Parr was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Childress got a massive performance out of Kaylee Felton, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Douglas, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Dalhart fell victim to Clarendon and their airtight pitching crew last Thursday. They lost 13-0 to the Broncos. It was the first time this season that the Wolves let down their fans at home.

Childress now has a winning record of 8-7-1. As for Dalhart, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4-1.
