Basketball Game Preview: Berea Bulldogs vs. Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers

Berea is 0-10 against Blue Ridge since February of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Berea Bulldogs will head out to take on the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers at 6:00 p.m.

Berea is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Wednesday. They took a blow against Daniel, falling 76-24. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-13.

Meanwhile, Blue Ridge didn't have too much trouble with Seneca on Thursday as they won 60-41. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Fighting Tigers.

Berea better focus on containing Opal Maralit and Audrey Harkins as the pair were huge in Blue Ridge's win. Maralit dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards, while Harkins went 7 of 13 on her way to 19 points and four steals. Maralit is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kaydin Sullivan was another key player, putting up 13 points and five assists.

Berea's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Blue Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Berea took a serious blow against Blue Ridge when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 84-25. Can Berea avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
