Softball Recap: Viewmont's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Viewmont came into Saturday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the White Pine Bobcats 11-1 on Saturday. The Vikings' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

London Dickerson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Dickerson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Raegyn Dahlke, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Ricki Smith was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Viewmont's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for White Pine, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Coming up, Viewmont will head out on the road to face off against Milford at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Milford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.6 runs per game this season. As for White Pine, they will be taking part in a tournament against Northridge at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday.
