Basketball Recap: Munroe Skates Past Tallavana Christian with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Munroe). They blew past the Tallavana Christian Lion, posting an 80-25 victory. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Lion are ranked 500th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Munroe got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zelden Chukes out in front who went 8 for 12 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Chukes a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Wright, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Tallavana Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Bryce Mosby, who posted 13 points. Frederick Glenn was another key player, putting up nine points.

Munroe's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for Tallavana Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Munroe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 90-33 win against Community Christian on the 5th. As for Tallavana Christian, they will look to defend their home court on December 12th against FAMU DRS at 7:00 p.m.
