Brandeis had won four straight games and Mia Ramos did her part to make it five on Wednesday. The Brandeis Broncos sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 win over the Johnson Jaguars thanks in part to Ramos, who went 7 for 12 on her way to 20 points and three steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.
Vivian Byerly was another key player, putting up 11 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024.
Johnson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mackenzie Donald, who went 7 of 17 en route to 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jera Salters, who posted six points and 14 rebounds.
Brandeis' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-16. As for Johnson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 20-11.
Brandeis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-52 win against LEE on the 24th. As for Johnson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-16 victory against SA Roosevelt on the 24th.
