Softball Game Preview: Beamer Titans vs. Auburn Trojans

The Beamer Titans will square off against the Auburn Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Beamer managed to slip by Enumclaw the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Titans lost 21-1 to the Hornets on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Beamer saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayris Thurman, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Auburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Kennedy Catholic, falling 20-6.

Amy Somera was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Bailey Brown, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Beamer's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Auburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Beamer has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .507. However, it's not like Auburn struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
