Soccer Recap: Sam Houston Comes Up Short

After flying high against Beau Chene last Tuesday, Sam Houston came back down to earth. The Sam Houston Broncos came up short against the Teurlings Catholic Rebels on Friday, falling 6-1. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Rebels are ranked 11th).

Sam Houston's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-6-4. As for Teurlings Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 9-3-2.

Sam Houston has already played their next game (against Lafayette Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Teurlings Catholic didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy on the 18th.
