Softball Recap: St. Catherine's Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

St. Catherine entered their tilt with Martin Luther on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Spartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-0 on Tuesday.

Annika Munoz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Londyn Pardo was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Adriana Melendez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

St. Catherine's kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

St. Catherine's now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Martin Luther, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
