Volleyball Recap: Crosspoint Christian Comes Up Short

Crosspoint Christian lost against Westwood Baptist Academy back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Crosspoint Christian fell 3-1 to Westwood Baptist Academy. Crosspoint Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Westwood Baptist Academy scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 24-26, 25-18, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Crosspoint Christian still got an impressive performance from Lizzy Schutt, who had eight aces, seven kills, and three digs. Schutt has been hot for a while, having posted two or more aces the last 17 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Julie Liggett, who had eight kills, seven digs, and seven aces.

Crosspoint Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.

Coincidentally, Crosspoint Christian and Westwood Baptist Academy will both be playing Varsity Opponent the next time they take the court. Crosspoint Christian will host Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Westwood Baptist Academy will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
