Basketball Recap: Evansville Christian Skates Past Tell City with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Evansville Christian). They claimed a resounding 71-43 win over the Tell City Marksmen. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Evansville Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hannah Higgs led the charge by shooting 47% from the field on her way to 19 points in addition to seven assists and five steals. Higgs' big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Elise Lousignont also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Evansville Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tell City only pulled down six offensive rebounds.

Tell City's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Coyle, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 17 points. Kendall Lane was another key player, shooting 50% from the field en route to 13 points and three steals.

The victory keeps Evansville Christian at an undefeated 4-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 61.3 points this season. As for Tell City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Evansville Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-45 loss against North Knox on the 25th. As for Tell City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-17 victory against Pike Central on the 25th.
