Basketball Recap: Walton Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Walton posted their biggest win since December 6, 2024 on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 73-43 victory over the Effingham County Rebels. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Rebels are ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elyjah Doty, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points. Another player making a difference was Lamar Roberts, who posted ten points.

Walton's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.9 points per game. As for Effingham County, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Walton will welcome North Cobb at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Walton has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 210 points over their last three matches. As for Effingham County, they will venture away from home to take on Lakeside at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
