Basketball Recap: Rushville Lions vs. Madison Cubs
On Monday, Rushville came up short against the Cubs and fell 45-36. Rushville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rushville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quentin Cain, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Apodaca, who scored nine points.
Quincy Reynolds continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Madison, scoring 15 points along with three steals. Damon Harden was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Rushville's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Madison, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rushville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Batesville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Lions in Indiana (the Bulldogs are ranked 78th, while the Lions are ranked 377th). As for Madison, they will head out on the road to challenge the Owls at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
