Basketball Recap: Grundy County Comes Up Short

Grundy County was the 53-44 winner over Community when they last played one another on February 7th, but their luck changed this time around. The Grundy County Yellowjackets were just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 55-54 to the Community Vikings/Viqueens. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Community found their leader in sophomore Alyssa White, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds. That's the most boards White has posted since back in December of 2023. Anna Haskins was another key player, putting up 19 points.

Grundy County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Community, they pushed their record up to 13-17 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grundy County will head out to challenge Summertown on Friday. As for Community, they will venture away from home to face off against Loretto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Loretto will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Community surely won't give up without a fight.
