Basketball Game Preview: Newport Cubs vs. Estacada Rangers

Newport is on a six-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, Estacada a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Newport Cubs will host the Estacada Rangers at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Newport came up short against Cottage Grove and fell 52-39.

Meanwhile, Estacada was beaten by North Marion 59-19 on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Rangers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Newport's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Estacada, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Everything came up roses for Newport against Estacada when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-21 win. Will Newport repeat their success, or does Estacada have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
